Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Provincial Nominee Programs are a set of immigration programs that are designed to meet the economic and demographic needs of the nominating Canadian Province or Territory. Each province can invite foreign nationals to live and work in their province if they believe the individual has the right skills and relevant work experience.

Canada has 10 provinces and 3 territories. Each province has its own program with different streams and different eligibility criteria. For example, Alberta Opportunity Stream allows qualified candidates who live and work in Alberta and have a job offer from an Alberta employer to apply for a provincial nomination and Ontario invites intermediate skilled workers in specific sectors, such as agriculture, construction, trucking and personal support workers to seek provincial nomination.

Additionally few provinces run Pilot programs that are temporary in nature and meet very specific labor demands in that province. For example, British Columbia Tech Pilot allows candidates working in select in-demand Tech occupations to apply for provincial nomination with expedited processing through the British Columbia PNP

Overall, there are more than 80 provincial streams across Canada. Understanding each Provincial Nominee Program stream and identifying which stream you could be eligible for, can be challenging. Contact us today to assess your profile and get started!
